Back to Snowy Maryland!

While we were gone to Oregon and Hawaii, Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic area got hit by two blizzards which brought record breaking snow fall in the area. We got 40 inches at our house. When Jeff arrived home on Friday, Feb. 12, from Hawaii he had to drive up a foot high bank of snow onto our street. They had plowed and removed snow until you got to the neighborhood. He fortunately found a place to park across the street that was open. Unless your car was parked during the storms there was no where clear! Someone had fortunately left that spot and Jeff took it! Our neighbor helped Jeff climb the mountain of snow up to our house...porch, steps everything was buried in snow! Jeff got busy shoveling the porch and Tim came later with Jason to dig out parking spots in front of our house. Thanks, Guys! Where you see bare pavement and sidewalk in the picture is where they shoveled! On Saturday more snow was plowed on the street and they brought in dump trucks to haul out more snow. By the time I arrived on Sunday night the main roads were pretty clear and our neighborhood was easier to get into. Our back yard is still untouched! It snowed a little again last night but nothing to make an impact. I'm thankful to have made it home with no problems...Jeff made it home fine...and our little house stood the storms just fine! Now I just have to get back into my Maryland world!

After all the hard work Jason also began to build an igloo! Tim is standing beside the walkway that he shoveled. He began to clear off the snow from my car and the huge pile of snow fell back on top of him! You can see the front of my car in the photo above. It gives you an idea of what came crashing down on Tim! This snow is not going anywhere very soon!
