Some Random Pictures!

Tim is platoon commander this semester so gets to carry a sword for formal parades. I couldn't resist a picture of him...and his fellow company mates. Good friends!

My sweet friend, Mary Fadel, had never been to a formal parade at USNA even though she lives here in Annapolis so I took her a few weeks ago. As Tim was marching straight at us I was getting a picture but she saw him wink. "Jan! He winked at you!" Awwww....Tim is the second one in from the left side front row.

Jeff and I treasure our time with Tim! These photos are from the Marine Corps Marathon. More pictures posted below. Next year Tim will be gone and so we make each moment count with him now!

I thought Tim looked spiffy in his new warm-ups and detailer shirt from plebe summer!

Jeff and I are at the Navy football game last Saturday. This is BEFORE it rained buckets! Later during the second quarter we were on our way to the car to take Tim home to prepare for the marathon the next day and the sky opened dumping rain sideways! Needless to say, we were drenched and thankful we only had to drive ten minutes to get home! Navy won, btw!

Dan's Birthday

I love to be with all my kids! This Oregon trip was close to Dan's 29th birthday so we all got together to celebrate at King Tin's in Corvallis. Happy Birthday, Dan!

Cuteness!

I was in Oregon to help Jill with the nursery which you will see below. Of course, cuteness is always the name of the game while I'm there! You can't avoid it with our three cute grandchildren! The trip began with Jill and Anna meeting me at the airport....along with miss cuteness herself, Cambria Lynn Steiner! I usually ride the shuttle to Salem but this time the girls picked me up so we could do some shopping. They said that Cami (who will be two in December!) kept looking at everyone who walked by seeing if they were her Grandma....when she saw the real me she took off running with a huge smile that only Cami can smile! I loved it! What a greeting! She knows her Grandma! Awwww....so sweet. Thanks Jill and Anna for coming! I won't expect it every time:) I wanted to get Cami a cute chair or chairs for her room for her birthday but didn't find anything I really liked. My friend, Vicki, knew I was looking and happened upon the most darling brown with pink polka dot chairs at Ross's and called me up! Thanks, Vicki! She even went and got them for me since I wasn't able to go. We had a little early birthday for Cami so she could enjoy them now. Most of the pictures I got of the kiddos are actually videos since those show more "of the moment" for Grandpa when I come home. I'm not sure how to post them here so I have just a few pictures. Micah and Cami had so much fun playing with their babies....you'll have to imagine it! Josiah was named "student of the month" in kindergarten for September. Oh, and Cami is not sick with a red disease but was enjoying putting on her eyeliner with red marker! It was washable:)

Getting ready for Jace John Nelson due Feb. 1st!

I flew to Oregon Oct 12 to see the kiddos and help Jill get the nursery ready. The main goal was to get the "Steiner baby" bassinet ready for our next baby! Josiah and Micah had the first version with blue ribbons and soft blue. Next we went all pink and polka dotty for Cambria Lynn. Now we are back to blue again for our next little boy, Jace! Only this time red was more the main color and he will have lots of little soft cars to keep him company:) I got the bassinet all finished and ready for baby! Jill and I also shopped for all the nursery fabric. I brought crib sheet and crib skirt fabric home to sew here in Maryland. While I sewed Jill painted his room. The next time I go will be Christmas so we won't have much time to prepare. This was the time to do it! After that I'll fly the minute I hear, "Mom, I'm in labor!" Oh, that will be a long flight!

Marine Corps Marathon 2009

I know I have soooooo many pictures to blog but need to just sit down and DO it! However, I wanted to get these online today. Tim and his good friend, Jason Mahuna, ran the Marine Corps Marathon today. Jeff and I got to watch and cheer them on. This is truly an amazing event! The first pictures are of them at the beginning of the day...bright and early....standing at attention for the National Anthem and waiting for the race to begin....enjoy!

The end of the marathon! Tim and Jason finished separately so this was when they caught up with each other after it was all over! Comrades forever!
